Casey Stengel secured his place in baseball history when he skippered the NY Yankees to seven World Series championships in 12 years, including an amazing five in a row from 1949-1953. Seeking a new challenge later in his stellar baseball career, Stengel became the first manager of the expansion NY Mets in 1962 and helped mold the young team until his departure in 1965. This Rheingold Lager Beer advertisement stems from the Mets' inaugural year and depicts Casey pretending to lay one down while Miss Rheingold, Kathy Kirsch, stands behind him as the catcher. Stengel's autograph, in thin blue marker, appears on the bat and grades a solid 7. The ad exhibits a horizontal fold down the center and some light wrinkling at the bottom. It is matted in blue and orange and housed in a 22" x 27-3/4" wood frame. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
