For a man who only lived to be 53 years old, Babe Ruth lived a full life. While it is true that many Ruth signatures are available in the market today, most high-grade offerings are tucked away in private collections and will never make their way to auction. That's what makes this original Ruth autographed photo even more special. Dated 4/24/42, the close-up, sepia-toned 7-3/4" x 8-1/2" photo exhibits uncanny clarity and features the "Bambino" in his Yankees uniform looking off in the distance. The black fountain pen signature includes the inscription "To My Friend Harry Shirley From" and grades a near 9. The near-mint photo is matted inside a 13-1/4" x 14" frame and shows some toning near the lower right corner that lends to its vintage feel. Surely any serious Ruth collector would love to add this fantastic piece to their collection. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
