After failing to finish higher than seventh in the National League for eight years in a row, the 1958 Pittsburgh Pirates finally said enough is enough. Under the tutelage of second-year skipper Danny Murtaugh, the Bucs went 84-70 to place second. Just two years later the Pirates would snap a 35-year drought by defeating the Yankees in the World Series. This Official League baseball is signed 12 members of the 1958 Pirates squad, including: Roberto Clemente, Bill Virdon, Hal Jeffcoat, Ted Kluszewski, Bob Friend, Gene Baker, Dick Groat, Ron Blackburn and Frank Thomas. The signatures are consistent throughout, grading close to a 7 overall, and the ball is near-mint. The autographs come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
