Joe DiMaggio is remembered as one of the game's most graceful athletes for his effortless play both at bat and in center field. The "Yankee Clipper" employed an unusually wide stance while winning two batting championships and three MVP awards. Many rate his 56 consecutive game hitting streak in 1941 as the top baseball feat of all time. Offered here is a mid-1980s Joe DiMaggio New York Yankees' home white pinstripe knit Old Timers Day jersey. In the neck of the jersey is a white tackle twill patch with the player name "DiMaggio" sewn on in navy chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" manufacturer's tag with the size "44." The "NY" logo has been sewn onto the left breast and the player number "5" has been sewn onto the back of the jersey, both in navy tackle twill. The jersey shows some wear which is consistent and even throughout. It appears to have no alterations of any kind.
