In 1961 Tom Tresh was given the opportunity to live out the dream of every young ball player. He was signed by the New York Yankees, and had a spectacular first year winning rookie of the year honors and helping his team to a World Series victory. He went on to spend the next eight seasons with the legendary Yankee teams of the 1960s taking part in three World Series. This classic Yankee flannel was worn by Tresh during the 1968 season. In the neck of the jersey is a gray patch with the name "Tresh" in blue embroidered stitch. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" label with the size "44." Adjacent to this is an additional "Wilson" label reading "1968 Set 1." Across the front of the jersey is the name "New York" in blue felt block lettering. These letters have been restored. On the back of the jersey is the all original blue felt player number "15." The jersey shows even wear throughout. The tagging is consistent with other New York Yankees flannel jerseys from this era that we have seen. The jersey shows game-use and with the exception of the restored front, appears to have no alterations of any kind. Tresh has signed the jersey on the front, however the autograph has faded over time and is now only slightly visible. The autograph comes with a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
