Horace Clarke took over second base for the New York Yankees when Bobby Richardson retired and remained with the club until 1974. A sure-handed fielder, he led the league in fielding average in 1967 with .990. This jersey was worn by Clarke during the 1960's. In the neck of the jersey is a gray patch with "Clarke 42" embroidered in blue chain stitch, denoting the player name and size. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "New York" and on the back is the player number "20." The letters and numbers are made of blue felt. The manufacturer's label and year tags have been removed from the left front tail. The jersey shows game use and with the exception of the removed labels, appear to have no alterations of any kind.
