In his 22 years of Major League play Dave Winfield was one of the games finest all around players. A tremendous hitter Winfield often swung a sledgehammer in the on deck circle and his hard work paid off as he became one of only 25 men to reach 3,000 hits. The 12 time all star was also the recipient of seven Gold Glove awards. In the collar is the "Wilson" label with the size "44." On the left front tail is a white label with "31 79" in black chain stitch. This denotes player number and year respectively. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Padres" and below this is the player number "31." The letters and numbers are made of gold on brown tackle twill. On the back of the jersey is a white nameplate with the player name "Winfield" in brown tackle twill. Below this is the player number "31" in gold on brown tackle twill. There is yellow trim around the neck and arm holes. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
