Mickey Hatcher, a clubhouse comic and team energizer, became the nation's darling with his 1988 post-season play. He homered in the first inning of the first and final World Series game and made the finest defensive play of the Series. This jersey was also worn during 1988 spring training. In the neck of the jersey is the "Rawlings" label with the size "42." Adjacent is a gray patch reading "9 87 1" in blue embroidered stitch. The numbers denote the player number, year and set number, respectively. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Dodgers" in script-style letters and on the back is the name "Hatcher." The letters are made of blue on white tackle twill. The player number "9" appears on both the front and back of the jersey. The number on the front is made of red tackle twill and the number on the back is made of blue on white tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "Vero Beach 40th Anniversary" patch. This patch was put on during 1988 spring training. On the left sleeve is the "Mac" patch commemorating the death of Don McMahon. There is an inscription on the upper left front reading "Best Wishes Mickey Hatcher 1988 World Champs." The autograph rates a 9.
