After striking out in his only major league at-bat, Hall-of-Famer Walter Alston used a quiet, sure-handed approach to win seven pennants in 23 years managing the Dodgers. He led Brooklyn to its only World Championship in 1955 and, after the Dodgers moved west to Los Angeles, won three more World Series in 1959, 1963 and 1965. Offered here is a 1969 Walter Alston Los Angeles Dodgers road manager's jersey. On the left front tail is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag with the size "46" and "Alston 69" has been sewn below it in blue chain stitch to represent manager name and year, respectively. Below "Alston 69" is the wash tag and to its right is a flag tag reading "SET 1 1969." The "100th Anniversary" patch has been sewn onto the left sleeve of the jersey and there is an black marker autograph in the neck that reads "24 Walt Alston" and rates a 9. The team name "Los Angeles" has been sewn across the front of the jersey in script-style letters that are made of blue felt. The player number "24" appears on the left breast in red felt and on the back in blue felt. The jersey shows wear which is consistent and even throughout. It appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph comes with a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
