Dick Schofield was signed right out of high school and came up to the Majors as an 18 year old rookie making an impressive $40,000 a year. A utility player, Schofield eventually became the Pittsburgh Pirates regular shortstop. He played in 65 games in 1960 batting .333. This jersey is from the 1960 world championship season. Inside the collar is the "MacGregor" label with the size "40." On the inside right front tail is a white patch with the year "60" in red chain stitch. Adjacent to this is the "Set 2 1960" flag tag. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Pirates" and on the back is the player number "11." All letters and numbers are done in black on yellow felt. There is black and yellow trim around the neck and arm holes. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
