With a blazing fastball that approached 100 mph, Nolan Ryan dominated hitters for 27 incredible seasons on his way to an all-time record 5,714 strikeouts. With a career spanning four decades, Ryan totaled 324 victories and a host of major league records. Most notable of his milestones are a mystifying seven no-hitters and 12 one-hitters. The eight-time All-Star fanned a record 383 batters in 1973, and his career strikeouts encompassed 1,176 different players. Offered here is a Nolan Ryan Texas Rangers home knit uniform from the 1989 season. In the neck of the jersey is the "W.A. Goodman & Sons" manufacturer's tag with the size "44." The team name "Rangers" has been sewn across the front of the jersey in script-style letters and the player number "34" appears on the left breast and the back of the jersey. All of these letters and numbers are made of blue on red tackle twill. The player name "Ryan" appears on the back of the jersey in blue tackle twill. Included with the jersey are pants. In the waistband is the "W.A. Goodman & Sons" manufacturer's tag with the size "34." There is also a white tackle twill patch with "Ryan 34-35 '89 Set 7" to represent player name, player number, inseam, year, and set number, respectively. The uniform's tagging and stitching are consistent with tagging and stitching on other Texas Rangers home jerseys from that period. The uniform shows game use with consistent, even wear throughout and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
