One of the finest college basketball players of all time Cazzie Russell was a three-time All-American, a two-time Big-Ten MVP, and was once voted College Player of the Year. In 1966 Russell made the jump to the pros when he was selected first in the draft by the New York Knicks. He went on to play 13 NBA seasons earning a reputation as a standup guy and a fine all-around player. This jersey was worn by Russell Circa 1975. On the front tail of the jersey is the "Tiernan" label. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Lakers" in purple on white tackle twill. Below this is the player number "32" which also appears on the back of the jersey. The numbers are made of white on purple tackle twill. Also on the back is the player name "Russell" in purple on white tackle twill. The jersey shows even wear throughout with fraying to the letters and numbers. The numbers on both the front and back show buckling and light scuffing. The jersey shows good game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Along with the jersey is a pair of shorts dating from the same period that were manufactured by Tiernan for the Lakers and have the number "42" stitched in. The number "42" was worn, during this same time period, by Lucius Allen.
