Pete Maravich's explosive offensive attack led him to five All-Star selections during his ten-year career. Maravich wore this red, white, and blue knit East jersey during the 1979 NBA All-Star Game in Detroit, in which he scored ten points with two assists and two rebounds in 14 minutes. The West team won a tight 134-129 game in what would be Maravich's final All-Star appearance. In the neck of the jersey is the "Sand-Knit" manufacturer's tag and to its right is the size tag "42." On the left front tail is the "East Side Sptg. Gds. Sand Knit" manufacturer's tag. The team name "East" is screened onto the front of the jersey in blue and the player number "7" is screened on below it in red. The player name "Maravich" is screened onto the back of the jersey in white and the player number "7" is screened on below it in blue. The uniform's tagging and stitching are consistent with tagging and stitching present on other 1979 NBA East All-Star jerseys. The jersey came to us directly from Maravich's wife Jackie and comes with a letter of authenticity from her. It shows game-use with two slight stains and has consistent, even wear throughout. It appears to have no alterations of any kind.
