The last man to truly threaten the .400 batting average mark, sweet swinging George Brett was an icon in Kansas City. The Hall of Famer finished his career with a .305 batting average and 3,154 hits. This jersey has been modified for Brett specifically after his father’s passing in 1992. The “JRB” initials patch is on the right sleeve for club president Joe Burke however Brett had it modified to add an “H” underneath the “R” embroidered in black in honor of his father’s initials. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag size “44” with washing instructions. Beneath is a strip tag reading “1992 SET 1 5 BRETT”. Across the chest reads “Royals”. The player number “5” appears below and on back and across the back is the player name “BRETT”. All numbering and lettering is done in blue tackle twill. Brett signed the front of the jersey in black marker and in our opinion rates an 8. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a Full JSA LOA.
