It may have taken him some time, but Elvin Bethea was finally reserved the right to call himself a Hall of Famer in 2003. The seven-time Pro Bowler was a sack machine who regularly altered game plans for offenses in the 1970's. This "Champion size 50" jersey was a part of the carnage caused by Bethea on the gridiron. The Powder blue gamer shows great use with hit marks and an unrepaired tear on the right shoulder. Numerous hit scrapes are visible on the top edges of the front "6" number. More hit marks and stains are found on the reverse, just above the sewn-on nameplate. The lower left region is occupied by a period Champion size tag. Overall, a quality jersey from Bum Phillips' main defensive force. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
