Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams holds or shares 20 NCAA records from this time at Texas, and became the NCAA Division I-A career rushing leader in 1998 with 6,279 yards, which was later broken. Williams had a sensational senior season, highlighted by rushing for nine touchdowns and 385 yards in the season's first two games, rushing for 318 yards and six touchdowns against Rice and rushing for 350 yards and five touchdowns. He helped beat longtime rival Oklahoma rushing for 166 rushing yards and two scores. Williams wore this jersey on November 29th, 1996 against Texas A&M in a 51-15 blowout victory and rushed for 145 yards and 1 touchdown in the contest. Inside below the collar is the Reebok manufacturer’s tag size “L” with washing instructions. Across the front reads “TEXAS”. The player number “11” appears on the front and back all which are painted in white. The player number also appears on both sleeves and across the back on an orange nameplate is the player name “WILLIAMS”. These are screened in white. The jersey is absolutely pounded with multiple repairs throughout including many large repairs to both shoulders and hit marks are seen throughout. On the upper right chest is a “Reebok” logo embroidered in white. The Big 12 patch has been removed from the upper left chest with an outline still visible. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match.
