After retiring from basketball in 1994, the greatest NBA player on the planet spent the next year pursuing a childhood dream to play professional baseball. He signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox of the American League, reported to spring training, and was assigned to the minor league affiliate Birmingham Barons. In the 1994 season he recorded 51 RBI and 30 SB (tied for fifth in the Southern League). He led the club with 11 bases-loaded RBI and 25 RBI with runners in scoring position and two outs. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturers tag size “46” with washing instructions. Attached is a strip tag reading “45-96-94” and two flag tags reading “100% POLYESTER” and “2” EXTRA LENGTH”. On the left chest is the team “SOX” logo. The player number “45” appears on both the front and back. All numbering and lettering is done in black on grey tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the “Comiskey Park” patch and on the right sleeve is the “MLB 125” anniversary patch along with a Russell “R” logo. Jordan signed the front of the jersey in black marker and in our opinion the signature rates a 7. Inside the rear waistband of the matching pants is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag size “34” with washing instructions and an attached flag tag reading “100% POLYESTER”. Adjacent is a strip tag reading “45 JORDAN 34/34-35.5/94”. This uniform is properly tagged and was presented to us as team-issued worn in a photo-shoot. Originally sourced from one of the Operation Managers at Upper Deck. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA and an Upper Deck COA although the corresponding hologram is not present on the jersey.
