In one of the most captivating summers in the history of baseball, "61 in '61" became the catchphrase of an era. Chasing the most hallowed record in baseball, unlikely hero Roger Maris edged out his more glorious teammate Mickey Mantle to capture the home run crown. Rawlings manufactured official league baseball dual-signed by Mantle and Maris. Mantle signed one panel with the added inscription “To Mike Best Wishes” and Maris signed another panel with the added inscription “To Mike Our Best Wishes” and in our opinion the signatures rate a combined 8. Moderate toning, spotting and multiple stains are present on the ball that do not affect the strength of the signatures. Accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA.
