A 24-day players' strike was called after Week 2 of the 1987 NFL Season, shortening the schedule to 15 games. Players took to the streets to protest. Offered is a sign worn during the almost month long strike. The sign measures approximately 22” x 28” and reads “NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE PLAYERS On Strike To Honor A Commitment To NFL Players Past, Present, Future”. Produced by the “ALLIED PRINTING TRADES UNION LABEL COUNCIL”. The original string used to hang the sign over a player’s head has been removed. Vintage aging, edge wear and light staining is present.
