Darryl Kile enjoyed one of his best seasons in 2000 with the Cardinals, winning 20 games and finishing fifth in the NL Cy Young voting. Kile tragically passed away at age 33 of an apparent heart attack in his hotel room before a June 22, 2002 game against the rival Chicago Cubs. On the inside front left tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions. Attached are four flag tags reading the size “50”, “SLEEVES 1 INCH EXTRA LENGTH”, “1 INCH EXTRA LENGTH” and “SET 1 2000”. Across the front reads “Cardinals” in red and navy blue chain-stitch embroidery. Adjacent below and on back is the player number “57”. Across the back is the player name “KILE” on a white nameplate. All are done in red on navy blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is a Rawlings logo embroidered and on the back collar is an official “MLB” logo. Kile signed the back of the jersey in black marker and in our opinion the signature rates a strong 8. Staining is present on the front button path. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
