Barry Bonds set the bar with 73 home runs in a single-season during 2001, a record that may never be broken. The 2001 season was one of seven National League MVP seasons for Bonds, who was also a 14-time All-Star. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturers tag with washing instructions. Adjacent below is a patch reading “2001 Barry Bonds Authenticated”. Across the chest reads “GIANTS” and on back is the player number “25”. All numbering and lettering is done in black on orange on tan tackle twill. On the left sleeve is a Giants team logo patch. Bonds signed the back of the jersey in black marker and there is an added inscription reading “HR 540” in an unknown hand. In our opinion the signature rates a near 9. We have been unable to conclusively photo-match this jersey to career home run #540 and are running this as a Bonds game-used jersey from the 2001 season. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA.
