After franchise quarterback Drew Bledsoe was injured early in the 2001 season, newcomer Tom Brady, at that time a backup with hardly any in-game experience, was forced to take the reins. To the delight of Pats fans, Brady turned around a banged up 0-2 team and marched them into the playoffs as AFC East Champions on the strength of a surprisingly successful 11-5 regular season record. The ensuing playoff run towards the Patriots’ first ever Super Bowl victory was nothing short of stunning. Beginning with their AFC Divisional round victory over the Raiders in what will forever be known as “The Snow Bowl” stands as one of the most memorable in NFL history. After dispatching the Steelers in the AFC Championship Game, Super Bowl XXXVI pitted the Pats against the St. Louis Rams, also known as “The Greatest Show on Turf”. Kicker Adam Vinatieri cemented his status as a New England legend, nailing a 48 yard field goal as time expired. This ring measures to a size “11” and weighs 71 grams. On the top center of this 14k Jostens ring, “WORLD” is raised and at the bottom of the center “CHAMPIONS” is raised. In the center of the face sits the Patriots team symbol done in blue and red stone, outlined in small diamonds, which sits on a raised diamond version of the Lombardi Trophy. The face of the ring is embossed with small diamonds, and the outside of the face is aligned with small diamonds. On the right shank is the “SUPERBOWL XXXVI” symbol raised and also reads “2001 PATS 20 RAMS 17” with a depiction of the Lombardi Trophy. On the left shank is “HALLUM 14-5 STAFF” as well as a Patriots helmet on top of an American flag. Properly stamped on the interior band is “JOSTENS 14K”. MINT condition. Also included is the original presentation box that measures approximately 4x7”.
