Pete Alonso added his name to the major-league record books during the 2019 season, setting the all-time rookie home run record with 53 long balls en route to capturing the Rookie of the Year award. Alonso was the first rookie to ever lead the Major Leagues in outright home runs. The “Polar Bear” also drove in 120 runs and belted 30 doubles during his rookie campaign. Manufacturer: DTB Length: 34 inches Weight: 32.6 ounces Labeling Period: 2019. The bat shows evidence of outstanding use with a handle crack, multiple ball marks and ink transfers. A thick coating of pine tar is down the handle approximately 8” and again towards the label. The bat features an axe handle and a blue and orange player number “20” decal on the knob. Alonso signed the front barrel of the bat in black marker with the added inscriptions “‘19 HR Derby Champ ‘19 All-Star NL Rookie HR Record” and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. This Alonso bat was given to the fan who caught his NL record setting 40th home run ball against the Kansas City Royals on August 18th, 2019. In exchange for the ball, the lucky fan was given this bat as well as game worn cleats and a signed ticket. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match, an ALOA from JSA and a PSA/DNA GU9.5.
