This “Springfield Republican” newspaper is dated “OCTOBER 1, 1915” and measures approximately 18” x 22.5”. The headline on the cover reads “THE BOSTON RED SOX, CHAMPIONS OF THE AMERICAN LEAGUE” and beneath is a picture of the team featuring Babe Ruth, Tris Speaker, Heinie Wagner and all others. The Red Sox would eventually go on to win the World Series, 4 games to 1 over the Philadelphia Phillies. The paper shows minor tears on the edges and expected aging but remains in beautiful overall vintage condition.
