Lou Gehrig will forever be imbedded in the minds and hearts of every baseball fan. He will best be remembered for both his iconic 2,130 consecutive games played as well as his hallowed “Luckiest man on the face of the earth” speech at Yankee Stadium resulting from the tragic ALS disease that abruptly ended his remarkable career and eventually claimed his life two years later. This photo measures approximately 2.5” x 3.5” and depicts Gehrig in a suit. Gehrig signed the photo in black ink and in our opinion the signature rates a 7. There is slight creasing to the photo and a minor tear on the bottom left corner which does affect the beginning of Gehrig’s signature. Originally sourced from Yankee teammate Dusty Cooke, accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA.
