During his 22-year playing career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Stan "The Man" was a 24-time All-Star, three-time World Series Champion, three time MVP and a seven-time NL batting champion. He retired after the 1963 season with a career batting average of .331 and solidified his place as one of the game's greatest hitters. Musial was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969, his first year of eligibility. In the rear collar is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag with an attached tag reading the size “44”. On the front left tail reads “Stan Musial” embroidered in red script style chain stitching. On the inside front left tail is a strip tag with washing instructions and an attached flag tag reading “SET 1 1955”. Across the chest of the zippered jersey reads “Cardinals” embroidered in red on blue writing beneath the team’s “birds on a bat” logo in gold, red and blue embroidery. On the back is the player number “6” in red on navy blue felt. This jersey was originally sourced from a collector who had it for over 20 years but was unable to provide the history. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used by our consignor and in our opinion shows light but definite use. Accompanied by an LOA from Dave Miedema.
