Bill Melchionni is an NBA champion, a two-time ABA champion and has his No. 25 retired by the Brooklyn Nets franchise. On the front left tail is a white swatch with the year “88” embroidered on it in black stitching. Adjacent is a blank white strip tag and below is a strip tag with, “4” LB” embroidered on it in black stitching. Adjacent is a “Sand-Knit” distributor’s tag that reads, “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the NEW JERSEY NETS”. Below is a “Sand-Knit” size “48” manufacturer’s tag. On the right inseam is a materials tag with washing instructions. On the right chest is the official “NBA” logo embroidered. Across the chest reads, “NETS”, the player number “25” appears on both the front and on the back and across the back reads the player name, “MELCHIONNI”. All numbering and lettering is done in red tackle twill sewn directly onto the white mesh jersey. This jersey was presented to us as team-issued and shows no use. It is accompanied by an Melchionni LOA that states this jersey was presented to him in 1988 by the team and has been in his possession since that time.
