One of the more memorable sports comedies, “The Bad News Bears” was released in 1976 and gave us characters such as Kelly Leak, Timmy Lupus, Morris Buttermaker and others. According to the WriteWords, L.L.C. COA that accompanies the jersey, this jersey was used as a prototype for the production of the film. On the inside of the rear center tail is a heavily faded stamp that reads, “WEST SAN FRANCISCO” and another ink stamp reads "WESTERN COSTUME SUPPLY CO". Adjacent is the number “18”. On the inside rear collar is a “MONARCH ATHLETIC SUPPLY CO.” manufacturer’s tag and attached below is a size “M” tag. Across the chest reads, “Bears” and the player number “14” appears on both the front and on the back in yellow felt on blue felt lettering directly applied to the flannel vest. Accompanied by the aforementioned COA.
