Yogi Berra was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972 and is a 13-time World Series champion as a player, manager and coach. A member of the Major League Baseball All-Century Team, Berra’s final playing season was with the New York Mets, followed by a coaching stint with the team from 1965-71 before being upgraded to the team’s manager from 1972-75. On the front left tail is a “Wilson” distributor’s tag that reads, “1968 SET 1” and below is a “Wilson” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads, “NEW YORK” and the coach’s number “8” appears on both the front and on the back which have been changed from the original number. These are done in blue felt lettering on orange tackle twill sewn directly onto the grey flannel jersey. This jersey is not being offered as a game-used example, but rather a jersey for display purposes only.
