Ken Griffey Jr. earned a spot on 13 All-Star teams during his career, but his debut appearance was on July 10th, 1990 during his second year in the majors. Griffey Jr. had two at-bats during the 2-0 American League victory at Wrigley Field. Griffey Jr. built on his accolades from there, collecting an AL MVP award, 10 Gold Glove Awards and being named to the MLB All-Century Team. Griffey Jr. received the highest percentage of the vote in National Baseball Hall of Fame history with 99.32%. On the inside of the front left tail is a “Rawlings” size “46” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached adjacent is a flag tag that reads, “SET 1 1990” and a grey swatch with the letter, “T” embroidered on it in blue stitching. Across the chest reads, “MARINERS” in blue on yellow on blue triple tackle twill. The player number “24” appears on both the front and on the back and across the back reads the player name, “GRIFFEY” on a grey nameplate. These are done in blue tackle twill. On the right sleeve reads, “Rawlings” in blue stitching and above attached via straight stitch application is the All-Star Game patch., “CHICAGO CUBS 1990 All-Star Game”. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Conclusively photo-matched by PM&G to earlier in the season and appears to match up well to the limited sampling of available ASG imagery. The jersey is accompanied by a letter of provenance signed by a notary public, saying the jersey was found in Griffey Jr.’s mother’s home, Alberta Griffey.

Please note that the photo-matching and grading authentication work on this jersey was performed by a new hobby service for game-used material PM&G. More information can be found at Photo-Match.com
