John Goodman screen-worn New York Yankees road flannel jersey from the 1992 sport drama “The Babe”. Goodman plays George Herman “Babe” Ruth who went from growing up in a troubled household and sent to an orphanage to being one of the most successful baseball players in the history of the game. Ruth plays for the Boston Red Sox until he has a falling out with the owner and its traded the New York Yankees. Ruth went on to have an illustrious career with the Yankees as he set many records and was idolized by the fans. Just below the inner rear collar is the “Mitchell & Ness” manufacturer’s tag with a size “XXXL” flag tag. On the inner rear tail is a tag with size “3XL” and a list of body fabrics. Stamped on the collar is “COSTUME COLLECTION” in black and “WESTERN COSTUME” in red. On the inner front left tail reads “THE BABE” and “J. GOODMAN” in navy blue stencil with “HOLLYWOOD PROP SUPPLY” and “WESTERN COSTUME CO. stamped adjacent. Across the front reads “NEW YORK” in navy blue felt. Attached to the front is a wardrobe tag reading “CIRCA 1930’s NEW YORK YANKEE SHIRT - Production: “The Babe” - Actor: JOHN GOODMAN - ACQUIRED FROM: WESTERN COSTUME VIA COSTUME COLLECTION”. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as screen-worn and in our opinion shows wear. Included is an 8” x 10” color photo of Goodman wearing the costume. Goodman has signed the photo in blue marker, in our opinion the signature rates a 10. The photo is in NM-MNT condition. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
