The trophy stands approximately 20” tall and weighs 12.5 pounds. It was presented to Larry Holmes in 1983 as the 17th recipient of the Victor Award for boxing. The Victor Award is presented by the National Academy of Sports Editors to the country’s most outstanding professional and amateur athletes and coaches. The marble-based trophy features a 16-inch brass plated figure with his right arm raised clenching laurelled leaves. The base of the trophy features a brass plate engraved with “SEVENTEENTH ANNUAL VICTOR AWARDS - LARRY HOLMES - BOXING - VOTED BY THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SPORTS EDITORS AND BROADCASTERS - PRESENTED BY SPORTSMAN’S CLUB - CITY OF HOPE - 1983”. The trophy is in NRMT condition and will require additional shipping and handling charges due to its size, weight and fragility.
