The greatest basketball team ever assembled for competition was the 1992 United States Men’s Olympic “Dream” Team that competed in Barcelona, Spain. It featured 11 players who have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for their individual careers. The 1992 Olympic Team as a whole was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010. The best player on the best team ever assembled is Michael Jordan, who is a six-time NBA champion and six-time NBA Finals MVP. Jordan was the only player to start in all eight games during the 1992 Olympic Men’s Basketball Tournament for Team USA. On the front left tail is a “Champion” size “46” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions and adjacent is another “Champion” tag that reads, “DESIGNED AND TAILORED EXCLUSIVELY FOR: 1992 SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES”. On the left inseam is a tag that reads, “100% POLYESTER” and a tag that reads, “3” EXTRA BODY LENGTH”. On the left chest is a Champion logo embroidered. On the chest reads, “USA BASKETBALL” screen-printed in red and navy blue over the white mesh jersey. The player number “9” appears on both the front and on the back painted in red with a navy blue-painted border. Across the back reads the player name “JORDAN” painted in red. Jordan signed the jersey adjacent to the front player number in black pen. With much deliberation, JSA was unable to form an educated opinion on the autograph. This jersey was uncovered in 1994 with the autograph already in place. It was purchased at the original Olympic Committee auction in its current state as it stands today. If Jordan did not pen this signature in his own hand than either the Olympic Committee or Sager signed his name. Grey Flannel stands behind the autograph 100% no matter what any third party autograph authenticator says. In an effort to make sure that the winning bidder is completely satisfied with this piece, if he or she so desires, we will have the original autograph professionally removed and cover the cost to have MJ autograph this at his flight school through UDA. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows excellent use with considerable sweat staining. Accompanied by a hand-written letter of provenance from NBA personality reporter Craig Sager—who was covering the Olympic games—on Turner Sports letterhead. Sager was informed by Executive Director of the US Olympic Committee, Harvey Schiller, that this was one of only two jerseys that Jordan wore during the 1992 Olympic games retained by the USOC. This is the only fully documented game-used Jordan “Dream Team” jersey with lineage dating all the way back to Barcelona and the finest example that exists. Accompanied with the original auction placard, which has United States Olympic Committee stamp, that reads, “MICHAEL JORDAN’S DREAM TEAM JERSEY - WORN BY: MICHAEL JORDAN 1992 OLYMPICS - SUBMITTED: USA BASKETBALL - VALUE: PRICELESS”.
