Shaquille O’Neal dominated the 2000-01 NBA Finals, averaging 33 points, 15.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.4 blocks to take home the series MVP award. On the front left tail is a Nike size “60” manufacturer’s tag with a flag tag attached below that reads, “LENGTH + 4”. On the left seam is a Nike “DRI FIT” tag. On the left inseam is a materials tag with washing instructions and a Nike “2000-01” year tag. On the left chest is the official “NBA” logo embroidered and on the right chest is an “NBA FINALS” patch embroidered. Across the chest reads, “LAKERS” and across the back reads the player name “O’NEAL”. These are done in purple on white tackle twill. The player number “34” appears on both the front and on the back in white on purple tackle twill. O’Neal signed the front player number “4” in black pen and in our opinion, rates an 8 overall. On the same number is PSA/DNA sticker “B17990”. We have yet to uncover a conclusive photo-match from the limited availability of period images for this item. It is more than possible that O’Neal was issued more than one shirt for this event (ie: first half, second half, PR event, back-up etc.). It appears to have been carried over from the regular season. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA and an LOA from D.C. Sports.
