Regarded as one of the best race car drivers in history, Richard Petty was inducted into the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010. Petty holds many of the main NASCAR racing records, including being tied for the most NASCAR Championships won, all-time wins, most wins in a season, most consecutive wins and so on. On the inside below the collar is a “HINCHMAN INDIANAPOLIS” manufacturer’s tag. On the left chest reads, “Firestone” with the company’s logo below and on the right chest reads, “Richard Petty”. These are done in red chain-stitching just above the pocket zippers. Petty signed above his name in black mark and in our opinion, rates an 8 overall. Across the back reads, “Firestone” in the same red chain-stitching. There are marks and scuffings through the fire suit. This suit is properly tagged, was presented to us as race-worn and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA and a Petty LOA that states this suit was worn in 1967 or 1968 and the cuffs are so worn because it was worn on a dirt track.
