Mark McGwire put the national sports spotlight on baseball during the 1998 MLB season as the home run chase unfolded towards Roger Maris' single-season record of 61. McGwire set a then major league single-season home run record of 70. Manuf: Adirondack, Model Number: MAC25 (engraved on knob), Length: 34.5 in., Weight: 32.2 oz., Wood: Ash, Labeling Period: 1998 (052), Condition: Uncracked. Ball/hit marks are present on the right, left and back barrel. Black ball transfer marks are present on the left barrel. Varied pine tar use; medium on lower hand, heavy on center barrel. The bat exhibits evidence of heavy game-use and outstanding player use attributes. McGwire signed on the front barrel in black pen and in our opinion, rates an 8 overall. On the barrel end is PSA/DNA sticker “1B11590”. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and from PSA/DNA.
