The 1986 “Miracle” Mets took home the World Series championship, largely in part due to one of their young arms, Dwight Gooden. Gooden went 17-6 with a 2.84 ERA during the 1986 season. On the front left tail is a “W.A. Goodman & Sons” size “42” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads, “Mets”, the player number “16” appears on both the front and on the back and across the back reads the player name “GOODEN” on a white nameplate. All numbering and lettering are done in blue on orange tackle twill. On the left sleeve is a “1962 1986 Mets 25TH ANNIVERSARY” patch embroidered in white, blue and orange stitching. Gooden signed the jersey in blue pen adjacent to the front player number with the added description, “My 1986 Gamer” and in our opinion, rates a 9 overall. The jersey has a small stain on the lower tails in both the front and on the back. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA and an additional LOA.
