As a member of the Oakland Athletics, Reggie Jackson started to build his Hall of Fame resume by leading the team to five straight AL West division titles and two World Series championships. In the one World Series Jackson played in (missed one due to injury) he took home MVP honors and has his No. 9 retired by the club. Jackson was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993 on the first ballot. On the inside of the front tail is a “McAULIFFE” manufacturer’s tag with a size “44” tag below it. Adjacent on either side is a “1974” year tag and a tag with washing instructions. On the chest is the “A’s” logo and the player number “9” appears on the back. These are done in green on white tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name “JACKSON” in green tackle twill sewn directly onto the yellow jersey. Adjacent to the player number, Jackson signed the jersey in black pen and in our opinion rates an 8 overall. The colors of the sleeves show signs of fading due to multiple washings. It appears to have been worn by the collector after Jackson wore it. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
