In 1996, Nolan Ryan’s place in baseball history was cemented with a first ballot Baseball Hall of Fame induction. Ryan holds MLB records for career strikeouts (5,714) and no-hitters (7). Ryan was named to the MLB All-Century Team and won his one and only World Series championship in 1969. On the front left tail is a “Majestic” manufacturer’s tag and below is a white strip tag with “7 46 08 256” embroidered on it in black stitching. On the left inseam is a materials tag with washing instructions. On the inside below the rear collar is a “W.A. Goodman & Sons” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads, “Astros”, below is the team’s star logo and on the back is the player number “34”. These are done in navy blue on white tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name “RYAN” in navy blue tackle twill on a white nameplate. There is staining on the jersey in the shoulder and back area. Ryan signed the jersey adjacent to the team’s star logo on the front in blue pen with the added inscription, “All time strikeout king 324 Wins 7 No Hitters” and in our opinion, rates a 7 overall. We have unable to confirm placement of "Astros" across the chest via period imagery. This shirt matches a Mears authenticated example with certification number 301281. This shirt exhibits proper extra length and no patch ever present on the sleeve. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA and an additional LOA.
