The 2001 season was magical for The Big Unit, as he earned his third straight National League Cy Young Award en route to a World Series ring. During the World Series, Johnson shared the MVP Award with Curt Schilling by pitching 17.1 innings, earning three wins, posting a 1.04 ERA and striking out 19. Johnson was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015 on the first ballot. On the front left tail is a “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached are three flag that read, “SET 1 2001”, “52” and “5 INCH EXTRA LENGTH”. On the left chest is the team’s logo in teal and purple on copper tackle twill. On the left sleeve is an “ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS” team logo patch above an embroidered Rawlings logo. Across the back is the player name “JOHNSON” in teal on purple tackle twill. Above the player name is an official “MLB” logo embroidered and below the player name is the player number “51” in purple on white on teal triple tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. We were told by our consignor that this shirt was sourced from a good friend of the team's mascot, D. Baxter the Bobcat.
