On the front left tail of the jersey is the partially frayed “SPALDING” manufacturer’s tag with flag tag “SET 1 1962”. On the inner left tail is the wash instructions tag. On the inner rear collar is a white felt strip tag with “40 62 12” in blue chain-stitching. Written in black marker on the inner rear collar is a few player names. Across the front reads “Mets”. Across the back is the player number “12”. All lettering and numbering is done in the same blue felt on orange tackle twill. On the left sleeve is an original “NEW YORK WORLD’S FAIR” patch embroidered in blue, orange and white which was added in '64 as this shirt was re-issued for multiple years. The jersey has numerous holes throughout but displays nicely. On the inner rear waistband of the pants is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “34” and flag tag “SET 1 1963”. Adjacent to the right is a wash instructions tag. Adjacent further to the left is a white felt strip tag with “2 6ins” in blue chain-stitching. Written in black and red marker on the inner rear waistband are numerous players names who wore these pants. There is a team repair on the top of the front right leg. The uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use with extended organizational wear. We were told by our consignor that this uniform was sourced directly from Mets major leaguer Ron Swoboda. A very rare, all-original surviving example.
