These cleats were worn by Royals rookie pitcher Jeremy Affeldt on April 24, 2002 in an 8-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers. It was Affeldt’s first MLB win as he threw 3.2 innings in relief allowing no hits and no runs with 5 strikeouts. “MIZUNO” manufactured black and white cleats. On the inside of each cleat is the size “11” tag. On the back of each reads “MIZUNO”, with their logo above, embroidered in yellow. On both sides of each cleat is the Mizuno logo in white. On the front of each tongue is the Mizuno “M” in yellow. On the side of each cleat is the player number “48” written in black marker. Affeldt has signed the toe of each cleat in silver marker with the added inscription “FIRST MLB WIN”, in our opinion the signatures rate a 7.5 overall. The cleats are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and in our opinion show appropriate use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
