“SPALDING” manufactured “Official League Leader” baseball. Written on the stamp is “1947 Dodgers” penned in an unknown hand. The ball has been signed by 31 members of the 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers. Notable signatures include Hall of Famers Jackie Robinson (1947 MLB Rookie of the Year & NL Stolen Base Leader), Pee Wee Reese (1947 All-Star) and Arky Vaughan. Additional signatures include: Hank Behrman (ss), Al Gionfriddo (ss), Eddie Stanky (1947 All-Star), Pete Reiser, John “Spider” Jorgensen, Clyde King, Gene Hermanski, Vic Lombardi, Gil Hodges, Eddie Miksis, Don Lund, Hal Gregg, Joe Hatten, Carl Furillo, Phil Haugstad, Harry Taylor (x2), Hugh Casey (1947 NL Saves Leader), Ralph Branca (1947 All-Star), Rex Barney, Harry “Cookie” Lavagetto, Bruce Edwards (1947 All-Star) and Stan Rojek. Also featured on the ball is Manager Burt Shotton (CH) and Coaches Jake Pitler and Ray Blades. All signatures are done in either black or blue ink and in our opinion rate from a 4 to a 9 with a majority being a 7. The ball is in VG-EX condition with even toning and some shellac. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
