While Hall of Famer Don Maynard was a frequent standout for the Jets, he proved to be much more than that during the 1967 AFL All-Star Game. With the East struggling, Maynard caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from teammate Joe Namath in the fourth quarter to put the team within 6. The East would score again with 0:58 seconds left on the clock to secure the win. Maynard would be named the All-Star Game MVP as he set a record with 128 receiving yards in the game. Maynard was one of only five players to record more than 50 receptions and more than 1,000 receiving yards in five different seasons. A four-time AFL All-Star, his 633 career catches for 11,834 yards were both pro records at the time. On the front left tail is the "Wilson" manufacturer’s tag with size “42” and wash instructions. Across the front and on back is the player number "13" in white tackle twill. On each shoulder of the jersey are seven stars in white tackle twill. Maynard has signed the “13” on the front of the jersey in black marker with the added inscription “68 AFL All-Star MVP”, in our opinion the signature rates a strong 9. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and was sourced from Don Maynard.
