Hall of Famer John Randle was a 7-time Pro Bowler, a 6-time All-Pro selection and was the NFL sacks leader in 1997. “Riddell” manufactured “AF-2” helmet. Adjacent below the left ear hole is the size “7 3/8” sticker and the numbers “63232” written in silver marker. Adjacent above the left ear hole is a warning sticker. Adjacent above the right ear hole is a “NOCSAE” recertification decal from 1996. “SCHUTT” manufactured purple facemask with code “CIE”. The white plastic bumper reads “Riddell” in red, the two facemask clips read “A” and “E”. White “Riddell” chinstrap is present. On the back of the helmet is the official “NFL” shield decal along with an injury warning decal. The backplate of the helmet reads “VIKINGS” in purple. The Vikings “Horn” logo appears on the left and right sides of the helmet in gold and white. Randle has signed the helmet in black marker with the added inscriptions “#93” and “$ACK$”, in our opinion the large signature rates a 9. The helmet is properly labeled, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use with some gashes and scuffing to the outer dome. We were told by our consignor that this helmet was obtained from Merton Hanks, current NFL Vice President of Operations. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
