The 1983 Los Angeles Raiders featured one of the league’s highest scoring offenses during the regular season, earning them a 12-4 regular season record and the AFC West division crown. The Raiders offense pounded defenses with a power running game and high-flying passing attack and their defense bullied the opposition all season long, racking up 57 sacks, tied for second most in the league. LA’s defensive prowess would continue in the playoffs, allowing only 24 points in their playoff victories over the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks on their way to Super Bowl XVIII. The matchup pitted the Raiders against the Washington Redskins, champions of the NFC with an offense that scored a then NFL record 541 regular season points. Coming into the game, the ‘Skins were the heavy favorite not only because of their offense, but their number one rated rush defense, their league best 14-win regular season record and their Super Bowl victory from the previous season. The Redskins appeared lost from the start of the game with the Raiders scoring touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams all in the first half. Facing an 18-point deficit at the start of the 2nd half, the Redskins showed some signs of life with a 70-yard scoring drive, only to be followed by a blocked extra point. It would be Washington’s lone touchdown of the game as the Raiders would cruise to a 38-9 win, the franchise’s third Super Bowl victory. This size 12.5, 14k white gold player’s ring weighs 49 grams with a total diamond weight of 2.75 carats.
