In Game 1 of the World Series, New York Mets pitcher Al Leiter faced off against Andy Pettitte and the Mets cross-town rivals, the New York Yankees. Leiter threw 7 innings allowing only 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 7 in a no decision. On the inner left front tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and flag tags size “48” and “SET 1 2000”. Between the second and third buttons are two corresponding pieces of velcro. Across the front reads “NEW YORK”. Adjacent below and on back is the player number “22”. Across the back is the player name “LEITER”. All lettering and numbering is done in the same blue glacier on white on orange tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the “Mets” logo patch embroidered in blue, white, orange and black. Adjacent below is the Rawlings “R” embroidered in blue. On the right sleeve is the “World Series 2000” patch embroidered in orange, blue, sky blue, grey, silver and white on white tackle twill. On the rear collar is the official “MLB” logo embroidered in orange, blue and white. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
