Below the inner rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with size “44”, wash instructions and the number “85” written in black marker likely penned in the equipment manager’s hand, a custom trait of Padres shirts from this era. On the front left tail is a brown strip tag with “40 82” in white chain-stitching. Across the front reads “padres”. On the back is the player number “40”. Both are done in the same yellow on orange tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “WISE” in yellow tackle twill on a brown nameplate, which has been restored. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
