This jersey was worn by Reds RP Kent Tekulve on April 17, 1989 in a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Tekulve threw two scoreless innings as he made his 1,019th career relief appearance, breaking the Major League record held by Hall of Famer Hoyt Wilhelm. On the inner front left tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “44”, wash instructions and flag tag “SET 1 1989”. Adjacent to the right is a white strip tag reading “2 INCH EXTRA LENGTH”. Across the front reads “CINCINNATI”. Adjacent below and on back is the player number “43”. Across the back is the player name “TEKULVE”. All lettering and numbering is done in the same red on white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is “Rawlings” embroidered in red. Tekulve has signed the front left tail of the jersey with the added inscription “#1019”, in our opinion the signature rates a strong 8. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and an additional LOA from Kent Tekulve.
