Bench was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1989 and is considered by many to be one of the greatest, if not greatest, catchers of all time. He was a fourteen-time All-Star, ten-time Gold Glove Catcher, two-time World Series Champion, two-time NL MVP and a World Series MVP. Below the inner rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with size “44” and wash instructions. On the front left tail is a grey strip tag with “82 1” in red chain-stitching. Across the front reads “CINCINNATI”. Adjacent below and on back is the player number “5”. Across the back is the player name “BENCH”. All lettering and numbering is done in red tackle twill. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
